Private Label Rights
Ask anyone who’s been in the Internet Marketing game longer than five minutes this question… “How many digital products have you got on your hard drive?”
The chances are pretty high that they will have (literally) hundreds of megabytes of products, all gathering “digital dust”, buried deep somewhere on their computer! Products they have downloaded, and despite all good intentions, have never even looked at them, let alone used them for the purpose they were bought for!
It’s easy to see why this happens… The “lure” of PLR (Private Label Rights) and MRR (Master Resell Rights)… these are ready-made products and you can purchase the rights to resell them (MRR) and even completely edit them and claim them as your own (PLR).
They come with sales letters already written. The hard work has already been done. All you have to do is put them on a web site, link them up to a payment processor like PayPal, and the money will (supposedly) come rolling in!
The big problem is…
Not many people actually “do” anything with this stuff… which is probably a blessing in itself, otherwise we’d be flooded with a lot of web sites all flogging the same thing!
There are three main reasons they don’t do anything with it:
- The “lure” of easy money sees them constantly scouring the net looking for even more PLR/MRR material to purchase (and clog up their hard drive)…
- And then they eventually discover that a large proportion of the PLR and MRR stuff available is basically C.R.A.P.! There is very little high quality material available that you can actually turn into profit (particularly MRR stuff, which is often packed full of links which only benefit the original author).
- The BEST way to utilize PLR material is to re-write it and make it substantially your own! But that takes time and effort!

Use them as Learning Tools!
PLR Learning Tool #1 - Use PLR and MRR products to extend your knowledge of Internet Marketing. Take advantage of a wealth of free training by actually unzipping and reading these packages yourself.
PLR Learning Tool #2 - De-construct each “package” and see how it has been assembled… i.e. sales letter, purchase link, download pages, auto-responder sequences, back-end promotion, etc. See the different ways you can do this, and work out which method best suits you!
PLR Learning Tool #3 - Use PLR and MRR products as “idea generators” for yourself! Work out what’s “missing” content wise… and then do it yourself!
In the last two cases, you’re working out what they did with the actual product, how it all “fits” together… and how YOU can do it better by creating your own, unique product - something that should be easier to promote and earn you more than the re-hashed material everyone else is using!
At all times, keep a close eye on what you are actually allowed to do with the product - check the license terms!!! If in doubt, ask the author and seek clarification!
